LEAD06 is a collaborative initiative between the Boone County Chamber and the Community Foundation of Boone County, designed to elevate leadership in the community. This unique partnership brings together the expertise and resources of both organizations to offer a comprehensive suite of leadership development programs.

At LEAD06, participants can access a range of opportunities, including leadership training, professional development workshops, and networking events, all tailored to empower community-focused servant leaders, nurture emerging leaders and support seasoned professionals. By leveraging the strengths of both the Community Foundation and the Chamber, LEAD06 ensures that its programs are both impactful and aligned with the community’s needs, while building up a diverse pipeline of informed and collaborative local leaders.

The goal of LEAD06 is to foster a culture of leadership excellence and community engagement in Boone County, empowering all individuals to drive meaningful change and contribute to the region’s growth and success.

Emerging Leaders

Coordinated by the Boone County Chamber

The 2025 Emerging Leaders program is a dynamic cohort-based initiative designed for employees who aspire to be leaders within their organizations or are in the early stages of their leadership journey.  Spanning over five half-day sessions, the program offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on leadership skill development and active engagement within Boone County. Participants will benefit from a blend of structured learning modules, panel discussions featuring industry experts, insightful guest speakers, and collaborative group work sessions.

This program serves as an invaluable opportunity for emerging leaders to enhance their skillsets while forging meaningful connections with peers across various sectors.

Boone County Leadership

Coordinated by the Community Foundation of Boone County

Boone County Leadership (BCL) aims to develop a county-wide leadership network, equipping participants to become responsible, active, and well-informed citizens who are ready to collaboratively address local issues, embrace the growth coming to our community, and help Boone County excel as an exceptional place to live, work, and play. The curriculum provides a well-rounded education about important issues and facets of the county, while guiding participants on an intentional journey to further develop leadership skills.

By the end of this 10 month program, individuals will be connected with like-minded people ready to get more involved in the community and drive positive change.

What is the difference between the Emerging Leaders and BCL programs?

Emerging Leaders is designed to target new and upcoming leaders by demonstrating a curriculum of 80 percent focus on learning new skills and tactics to become a great leader, and 20 percent focus on Boone County.

BCL is a program designed to guide stewards of Boone County in how to collaboratively address local issues and help the community excel. BCL is 80 percent focused on Boone County citizenship and 20 percent focused developing skills in leadership.

Do I have to live in Boone County to participate?

As long as you serve Boone County, you are more than welcome to apply. Serving can mean working, volunteering, living, donating, advocating etc.

Can I apply for both programs?

Yes, you can apply for both programs if you are unsure which route to go. Your placement will be determined by the CFBC and BCC. Due to the curriculum and program timing, we suggest that participants do one program at a time.

What do participants get out of the programs?

Participant takeaway from either program will include a vast knowledge of leadership skills, philanthropy, learning what resources our County has to offer, and using these skills to motivate you in your leadership journey.

What are the time commitments?

Emerging Leaders spans five half-day sessions beginning in April 2025.

BCL meets one full day per month over the course of 10 months beginning in August 2025. Participants must attend eight of the 10 sessions.
