The Community Foundation of Boone County was formed by a group of passionate and caring Boone County residents who wanted to build resources that would benefit nonprofits and residents of Boone County forever. In 1991, with their support, $15,000, and funds from Lilly Endowment Inc., the Community Foundation of Boone County was established.

Today, CFBC holds more than $32 million in assets and has granted over $30 million from its various funds to nonprofit organizations and programs working to solve critical challenges in Boone County.
