Granddaughter Raises Hundreds from Lemonade Stand to Help Students
Boone County residents suffered a profound loss when beloved community leaders, Richard & Pat Isenhower, were killed in a car accident in March of 2015. Pat and Richard were pillars of leadership in Boone County. They shared a passion for helping others and embodied what it means to give back. Their youngest granddaughter, Ellie Isenhower, age 6, is carrying on her grandparent’s legacy of giving.
Ellie, photographed in front of Witham Hospital where her grandmother worked for 40 years, raised over $200 at the Isenhower estate auction to donate to her family’s newly established scholarship fund. Currently, Witham Health Services is matching all gift to this fund, dollar for dollar, making Ellie’s gift go even further. The Isenhower Family Educational Fund provides scholarship to Lebanon High School students with aspirations of higher education—taking recommendations from educators and community leaders. Priority will be given to students participating in the Lebanon Grad Coach and AVID programs at Lebanon High School and financial need will be considered.
Gifts to this educational fund may be sent to the Community Foundation of Boone County, Isenhower Family Education Fund, 102 N. Lebanon St, Ste 200, Lebanon, IN 46052 or at www.giveboonecounty.org, and will also be matched dollar for dollar by Witham Health Services up to $25,000.
