Lionel Dubay Youth Sports Award Presented to Troy Hobick.

The 2016 Lionel Dubay Youth Sports Award, in honor and memory of Lionel Dubay, recognizes a Zionsville resident making significant contributions to a youth sport in Zionsville. The award was presented to Troy Hobick. Troy (pictured center with his wife, Tami on the left) was presented with a plaque by Lionel’s wife, Gwen Dubay (pictured right).

Mr. Hobick’s nominator, Ron Schulte, said of the recipient, “Troy is well deserving of this honor. He has been very active in the youth sports of the community and school systems as his two sons moved through the various programs.  These programs included both Sport and music programs. I feel his major donation to the Zionsville youth was when he undertook a 3 year project of reshaping, sodding and draining the Lions park youth diamonds.  This made them safer and also reduced the days when the diamonds were unused due to water issues.

“Troy has been involved in youth sports literally forever. I can’t think of a time I haven’t seen him at the fields.” –Liz Ellis, Zionsville Little League Secretary

Dave Hamernick, friend and neighbor of the Dubay’s, stated: “Troy has been a very active, supportive and committed behind the scenes volunteer.”

CFBC is honored to hold this special fund here at the Foundation. The award includes a grant to the Zionsville youth sports program of the recipients choosing. Troy has chosen the Zionsville Little League to receive the grant.
