Girls on the Run, $5,200

Girls on the Run believes that every girl can embrace who she is, can define who she wants to be, can rise to any challenge, can change the world. Can. The Community Foundation of Boone County is thrilled to support this program and bring their mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident here in Boone County! $5,200 from the Jay Martin Fund for Children will be used to support the expansion of the program in Boone County. The grant will be utilized to “adopt” five Girls on the Run teams (two from Western Boone School Corporation and three from Lebanon School Corporation) during the spring 2016 season.  No girl is turned away because of financial need and these funds will provide scholarships for forty girls in these schools who otherwise could not afford to participate.  The fee per girl is $130.00 but this grant will allow these forty girls the opportunity to participate for $15.00 each.
