The Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) is excited to announce that First Farmers Bank and Trust (FFBT) established a new community impact fund, First Farmers Fund for the Future of Boone County. The fund will support the changing needs of Boone County and will exist as a way to empower local residents to support the Boone County community in a variety of donation ways.
“First Farmers Bank and Trust is proud to establish the First Farmers Fund for the Future of Boone County. This initiative underscores our commitment to empowering and strengthening our local communities. With the generous matching grant opportunity, every dollar contributed will go even further in enhancing the quality of life in Boone County and creating lasting, positive change. We look forward to seeing the impact this fund will have on the future of Boone County.”
Community Impact funds are crucial for CFBC, enabling it to allocate resources where they are most needed, like education, health and wellness, and community connectivity. This newly created fund will provide vital resources to support community initiatives and projects throughout Boone County, offering the flexibility to respond to emerging needs and opportunities.
The timing could not be more perfect for this announcement. Thanks to a matching grant as part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII), eligible donations made into this fund are matched $2 for every $1 gifted, while matching dollars are still available – essentially, tripling the donation and impact.
“We are thrilled to partner with First Farmers Bank and Trust with this meaningful initiative. We appreciate their commitment to our community. This fund will empower us to continue making a positive impact in the lives of Boone County residents and we are excited to see the matching grant opportunity help maximize the impact of the bank’s investment with CFBC.”
First Farmers Bank and Trust has a long-standing tradition of community engagement and support. This latest initiative reflects their dedication to fostering growth and development in the areas they serve. The matching grant currently available amplifies this commitment, allowing the funds to make an even greater difference.
“We believe in investing in the future of all of our local communities throughout Indiana. By establishing this fund, we hope to inspire others to contribute and support the diverse needs of Boone County. We’re excited to see how these funds will be utilized to improve our community.”
The Drayer Family also contributed a generous gift to jumpstart the fund, as they believe in this fund’s purpose to support the future of Boone County. They challenge others in the agriculture community to also give in support of this initiative.
One unique way local farmers can contribute to this fund is through gifts of grain. Donating grain directly to the Community Foundation provides a meaningful opportunity for farmers to give back to their community while also receiving potential tax benefits. By donating crops rather than selling them and then contributing the proceeds, farmers can often reduce their taxable income. These gifts of grain play a vital role in supporting Boone County’s future, ensuring that the agricultural community has a direct hand in strengthening local initiatives through the new First Farmers Fund for the Future of Boone County.
CFBC encourages individuals and organizations interested in making a lasting impact in the area to explore various giving options. Every contribution, large or small, plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life in Boone County.
