The Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) is seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our team of volunteers. We have openings on a variety of committees, including Scholarships, Grants, Investment, Finance, Donor Development, and our Board of Directors. These roles provide a meaningful opportunity to shape the future of our community, support local organizations, and help guide the foundation’s impact. Whether you’re interested in helping award scholarships to deserving students, evaluating grant applications, or contributing your financial expertise to guide investments, there is a place for you to make a difference.

Expectations:
  • Our committees generally meet quarterly, with some being in person and some being virtual
  • Attendance to committee meetings is strongly encouraged; requirements vary based on committee
  • Committee and board members must live, work, or serve in Boone County
  • Our Board of Directors meets six times a year in person; attendance to at least 4 meetings/year is required
  • Board members serve a 3 year term, being eligible to serve up to a total of 3 consecutive terms if one term is in an executive role
  • Board members must serve on at least 1 committee in addition to the Board
  • Annual financial commitment from our Board members to give or get an annual donation of $500

The Community Foundation of Boone County exists to unite people, organizations, and philanthropy to create a thriving community for all. Since 1991, its leaders have worked to empower and engage local communities to make a difference right here in Boone County, while also leading a vision to collaboratively address the root causes of challenges facing Boone County in diverse and equitable ways.
