The Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) is celebrating its 35th anniversary by inviting community members to invest in the future through the launch of the 35 Society, a special, one-time giving opportunity recognizing donors who help shape Boone County’s next chapter.
For 35 years, CFBC has connected generosity with community need, helping donors turn care for Boone County into lasting impact. From addressing immediate challenges to building long-term solutions, that work has always been powered by people who believe in something bigger than themselves: a stronger, more connected Boone County. The 35 Society was created in that same spirit.
Established during CFBC’s 35th anniversary year, the 35 Society celebrates individuals, families, and businesses whose generosity reflects a shared commitment to the long-term vitality of Boone County. Membership is both a celebration of what has been built and a commitment to what still needs to be built together.
As we celebrate 35 years of philanthropy, we’re also looking ahead to our next 35 years in Boone County. The 35 Society is an opportunity for donors to be part of a milestone that honors our history while investing in the future of our community in a meaningful and measurable way.
A qualifying gift of $3,500 or more made during 2026 provides membership in the 35 Society. Gifts may support an existing fund or establish a new fund that aligns with a donor’s philanthropic goals.
Donors who choose to make an unrestricted gift may also qualify for the GIFT IX initiative’s 2-to-1 match, allowing a qualifying gift to have three times the impact, while matching dollars are available. Through the match, a $3,500 unrestricted gift becomes $10,500 in community impact, expanding CFBC’s ability to respond to Boone County’s greatest opportunities and emerging needs.
The matching opportunity also allows donors to establish a named endowed unrestricted fund, creating a permanent charitable legacy that will benefit Boone County for generations to come.
Importantly, the 35 Society is not just a recognition of generosity – it is an entry point into something larger. Members are welcomed into CFBC’s Boone County Legacy Society, a distinguished group of past and present community members who have made a lasting commitment to Boone County’s future. Together, Legacy Society members recognize that community needs evolve over time, and that sustained generosity is what allows Boone County to meet those changing needs with strength and purpose. Through this connection, 35 Society members join a tradition of philanthropy that spans generations, where today’s giving becomes tomorrow’s foundation.
The 35 Society is available only through December 31, 2026. To learn more about the 35 Society or to make a qualifying gift, visit https://boonecounty.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/list or contact Kim Newnam, Director of Philanthropy, at kim@communityfoundationbc.org.
