Aspire Indiana, Inc., $10,000
In 2015, Aspire Indiana (Formerly known as BehaviorCorp in Boone County) made the decision to transition the organization from a behavioral healthcare organization to simply a healthcare organization. Through their complete wrap-around services, Aspire Indiana provides a wide array of services ranging from addiction assistance and crisis support to deaf services and career counseling. This funding will help to provide extended job placement support services to individuals in Boone County through Aspire’s Career Connections. The target population for this project consists of adults living in Boone County who have significant mental or physical barriers to employment including but not limited to: severe and persistent mental illness, hearing impairment, and/or visual impairment. Activities supported by this grant include:
- On the job site support including observation and supervision of the participant,
- Teaching job tasks and monitoring at the work site
- Short-term job skill training at the work site to help maintain employment
- Soft skills training such as self-advocacy, problem solving, communication, time management, development of natural supports and other soft skills required to maintain employment
- Contact and/or follow-up with the employers, participants, parents, family members, guardians, advocates or authorized representatives of the participants, and other appropriate professionals.
