meet mary hatton, director of finance

The Community Foundation of Boone County has named Mary Hatton as the new Director of Finance. Hatton is a dynamic team player whose background in accounting and finance allows her to effectively and efficiently execute accounting processes, while managing the endowed funds to continue allowing the Foundation to make a greater impact in the Boone County communities.

“We are blessed to have Mary joining our team”, said Jodi Gietl, President & CEO. “A gifted and talented financial leader, Mary brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, and will be a perfect fit to steer the financial ship of CFBC. Her background in Fortune 500 finance and her passion for philanthropy make her a tremendous asset to Boone County!”

Before joining the Foundation, Hatton worked for over 30 years at McDonald’s Corporation doing profitability analysis, corporate financial reporting, real estate reporting, and consulting with owner- operators. She continues to serve as a volunteer with several foundations & charities, including Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Ronald McDonald Children Charities.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to work every day with the Community Foundation of Boone County and see the direct impact the Foundation makes on the lives of the people of Boone County”, said Hatton. “I started working as a volunteer with CFBC during the last months of 2020 & saw firsthand the immediate impact the Foundation has made on the community during COVID. It’s inspiring and I look forward to bringing my skills to the team to serve our community together!”

 Since 1991, the Community Foundation of Boone County has granted over $25 million from its various funds to nonprofit organizations and programs working to solve critical challenges in Boone County. Through the generosity of donors, the Community Foundation currently holds $25 million in assets. In the past 30 years, we have worked with donors to create permanent funds for charitable giving. The establishment and growth of permanent endowment funds will strengthen Boone County for generations to come.
