Interim Leadership Announced Following Resignation of CFBC President & CEO Jen Pendleton
The Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC) Board of Directors has announced that President & CEO Jen Pendleton has submitted her resignation effective April 1, 2016. Pendleton will assume the position of Vice President with Aly Sterling Philanthropy, a national consulting firm based in Toledo, Ohio, which is expanding in Indiana.
CFBC Board Chair Beth Casselman expressed gratitude for Pendleton’s leadership and confidence in the foundation’s entire staff. “The Community Foundation of Boone County is stronger than ever in its 25-year history. The foundation’s board is grateful to Jen, and along with the CFBC staff, we’re eager to continue building community impact through great grantmaking and donor service while we search for the foundation’s next CEO,” Casselman said.
The CFBC board appointed current staff members Julie Cole Mecum and Kristi Reynolds to serve in interim leadership roles overseeing areas within their respective realms of expertise. Cole Mecum, who serves as CFBC’s Philanthropic Services Manager, will be responsible for finance and operational duties, while Reynolds will focus on development and communications. “Both Julie and Kristi already work well as a team with Barb Schroeder who manages CFBC’s grant programs and Gabi Youran, who manages Boone County Leadership and scholarships, so their co-leadership is a win-win for the foundation and the community,” said Pendleton.
The board has formed a search committee, and information on how to apply for the position is posted HERE.
The board and staff are committed to fulfilling CFBC’s mission of uniting people, organizations and philanthropy to create a thriving community for all. According to Reynolds, the foundation is on track to complete its $1 million matching challenge from Lilly Endowment to build CFBC’s Community Impact and other endowed funds. The challenge ends March 31st.
Pendleton said, “It has been my honor to serve our community these past three years. I can’t thank our incredible donors enough for what they do. I will truly miss this work. I leave knowing this community is stronger, with more funds to impact community needs.”
