Members of the Women of Impact Boone County (WOI) philanthropic giving group brought their passion for supporting local nonprofits together and voted Indiana Diaper Bank as their 2023 third-quarter grant recipient.
The local nonprofit was awarded a check for $11,710 to support their diaper distribution efforts. Indiana Diaper Bank works to eliminate diaper needs in our community by providing a reliable and adequate source of basic baby diapering essentials. Diapers can cost $100 per month per child, and 1 in 2 families in Indiana struggle to afford diapers. Research has shown the positive impact that receiving diapers has on maternal mental health and how providing diapers allows parents to send their kids to daycare so they can obtain employment.
The Indiana Diaper Bank has distributed more than 3.5 million diapers throughout Indiana. In Boone County, they partner with local agencies, including WIC held at The ARC of Greater Boone County, to distribute diapers to those in need. Earlier this year, they distributed more than 12,000 diapers in one day to Boone County families!
The funds requested and received from Women of Impact Boone County will help the Indiana Diaper Bank fulfill their mission of empowering families in Indiana by providing a reliable and adequate supply of diapering essentials.
