The Witham Family YMCA has received a $3,000 grant to support their preschool enrichment program. Recognizing a lack of adequate quality preschool programs in Boone County, the Y has taken the initiative to help expand the opportunities available.
This Community Foundation grant from the Jay Martin Fund for Children will provide financial assistance for some families to attend, as well as supplies, materials and staff training for the program, which is kicking off with preschool enrichment camps this summer. The program will continue into the fall, with the goal to open a full-time preschool soon.
The Community Foundation is pleased to support the Witham Family YMCA’s goal to promote and enhance positive socialization skills in order to give all kids in Boone County an opportunity to be successful in the classroom and beyond.
