Give Boone County Week, $80,600 in Grants Awarded
Community Foundation of Boone County awards $80,600 to local nonprofits
The Community Foundation has two competitive grant cycles annually, in the spring and fall, for nonprofit organizations that serve Boone County. Most of the funding is provided thanks to CFBC’s Community Impact Fund and the Jay Martin Children’s Fund. During this fall cycle, CFBC is pleased to announce it has awarded over $80,000 to seven local nonprofits, including one large Boone Impact grant of $50,000. “Our objective is to make more impactful granting within the communities and to bring more organizations with similar programming together to address the needs in our county,” says President and CEO of CFBC, Jen Pendleton. “In the future, we hope to fund more and more Boone Impact Grants—which are larger grants that will give agencies the resources they need to dream bigger and partner together to address the issues. Meeting our Million Dollar Campaign goal will put over $60,000 a year, every year back into the community.” The Million Dollar Campaign is a challenge by Lilly Endowment for Boone County to raise $1 million and Lilly Endowment will match it, dollar for dollar, increasing the CFBC endowments by $2 million. The foundation has raised $680,000 to date and has until March 2016 to meet the match goal. More information can be found at www.giveboonecounty.org.
