On November 17th, the Community Foundation of Boone County Board of Directors, Staff and Supporters traveled throughout Boone County to surprise ten Boone County nonprofits with a grant. It was the fifth annual “CFBC Day of Giving Back”. With the entire day dedicated to celebrating local organizations, the CFBC team focused on the importance of continually giving back to help others.

“This day is one of the best days of the year! There is a lot of planning and preparation that goes into this incredible day and seeing the reactions of the nonprofit leaders makes it all worth it!”, said Julie Reagan, CFBC CEO.

In seven hours, we poured a record-breaking $65,000 into Boone County nonprofits to help them better serve others. This day would not have been possible without our friends at Eli Lilly and Fluor, who helped increase some of the grants and joined us on our journey.

The following Boone County nonprofit organizations received grants:
Refuge Teen Challenge – $5,000
The Arc of Greater Boone County – $5,000
The Caring Center – $10,000 (thank you for partnering with us Eli Lilly)
Center Stage Community Theatre – $10,000 (thank you for partnering with us Fluor)
Jamestown Community Partnership – JCP – $5,000

Habitat for Humanity of Boone County – $10,000
Safe Families for Children – $5,000
