cfbc awards $10,000 during 2021 day of giving back

On November 23rd, the Community Foundation of Boone County Board of Directors and Staff traveled throughout Boone County to surprise ten Boone County nonprofits each with a $1,000 check. It was the third annual “CFBC Day of Giving Back”. With the entire day dedicated to giving back, the CFBC team focused on the importance of continually giving back to help others. 2021 donations to the foundation delivered warm meals to elderly, supported mental health programming, supported scholars in a variety of career paths, and helped single parents who have no where else to turn. While CFBC was able to address some of these local needs, there are many needs throughout Boone County that still exist. The foundation wants to continue giving what we can to help support our community partners working to solve local, unmet needs.

In seven hours, we poured $10,000 back into Boone County nonprofits to help them better serve others. The dollars came from a variety of funds held at CFBC, including the Community Impact Fund, Boone County Fund for Youth, and Jay Martin Underprivileged Youth Fund. The following organizations received $1,000 each: Boone County Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon Parks Department, Thorntown Parks & Recreation, Advance Community Parks, Jamestown Parks & Recreation, Zionsville Chamber of Commerce, Zionsville Parks & Recreation, Whitestown Parks & Recreation, Boone County Economic Development Corporation, and Heart of Lebanon.

The foundation loves to spread joy in Boone County. We appreciate everything that everyone does to make a difference in our community. “Thank you to our amazing donors for giving us the opportunity to surprise some of our local nonprofit organizations like this”, said Jodi Gietl, CFBC President & CEO. “Every dollar donated to an endowed fund at CFBC means we can collectively make a greater impact in our Boone County communities- both for today and future generations!”

Now is the time to give and see your donation combine with the gifts from local residents to make an even greater impact right here in Boone County. You can give online through our website, mail in a check, or contact us to schedule a time to talk about establishing your own fund.
