Cfbc awards $10,000 during 2020 day of giving back

On November 24th, the Community Foundation of Boone County Board of Directors and Staff traveled throughout Boone County to surprise ten Boone County nonprofits each with a $1,000 check. It was the second annual “CFBC Day of Giving Back”. With the entire day dedicated to giving back, the CFBC team focused on the importance of continuing to give during such a challenging year. 2020 donations to the foundation provided food to those in need, helped schools safely reopen, and provided financial support to nonprofits who work on a daily basis to address local needs. While some COVID-19 needs have been addressed, many needs still exist and the foundation wants to continue giving what we can to help support our community partners working to solve those needs.

In seven hours, we poured $10,000 back into Boone County nonprofits to help them better serve others. The funds came from the Community Impact Fund. This fund allows the foundation to award grants to meet local needs as they arise. The following nonprofits received $1,000 each: Tri-Area Library, Jackson Township Historical Society, Thorntown Public Library, We All Value Each-Other (WAVE), Lebanon Public Library, Witham Health Services Foundation, Isaiah 117 House Boone County Indiana, So Big Mountain Maternity Home, Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, The Cabin Counseling & Resource Center, Inc.

The foundation loves to spread joy in Boone County. We appreciate everything that everyone does to make a difference in our community. “Thank you to our amazing donors for giving us the opportunity to surprise some of our local nonprofit organizations like this”, said Jodi Gietl, CFBC President & CEO. “Every dollar donated to an existing fund or set up into a new fund means we can collectively make a greater impact in our Boone County communities- both for today and future generations!”

Now is the time to give and see your donation combine with the gifts from local residents to make an even greater impact right here in Boone County. You can give online through our website, mail in a check, or contact us to schedule a time to talk about establishing your own fund.
